Carlton Morgan – A Heart of Service, A Life of Grace

At First Genesis Baptist Church, we believe in giving honor where honor is due. That’s why we’re excited to launch our new weekly spotlight series: Men of First Genesis—a space dedicated to recognizing the strength, service, and spiritual leadership of the men who help shape our church community.

Each week, we’ll highlight a different brother whose life and walk with Christ reflect the values we hold dear: faith, commitment, humility, and love in action.

We begin this series by honoring someone whose quiet service has spoken volumes over the years—Brother Carlton Morgan.

For 25 years, Carlton has stood at the sanctuary doors as a faithful usher, greeting everyone who walks in with a warm smile and a spirit of welcome. His presence is consistent, his heart is humble, and his love for God is evident in everything he does.

Carlton’s life is also a powerful testimony of God’s grace. With 27 years in recovery, he continues to walk in strength and surrender, becoming a source of inspiration and hope for many. He doesn’t just open doors on Sunday—he opens hearts to the reminder that God is always restoring.

In his professional life, Carlton has dedicated 26 years as a Buyer at Precision Grinding and Manufacturing Corp., where he’s known for his reliability and leadership. Outside of work and church, he finds peace in watching crime dramas and enjoying rounds of golf—a hobby he’s embraced for over 12 years.

What makes Carlton stand out isn’t just his years of service, but the heart behind it. He embodies Christ-like hospitality—offering more than a seat, but a sense of belonging.

One of his favorite scriptures reminds us of the source of his strength:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
